Hi, I'm Samantha!
I’m a San Francisco native with a background in Psychology and Sociology from UC Irvine—now channeling that behavioral insight into the world of UX/UI and product design. My passion lies at the intersection of design, mental health, and emerging tech, particularly AI and Human-Computer Interaction.
My Story
2000
My current interests sit at the intersection of human-computer interaction, ethical design, and emerging AI technologies. I’m drawn to applying user-centered design to improve the mental health landscape—by increasing access to care, reducing stigma, and creating experiences that support emotional well-being in meaningful ways.
As AI becomes a bigger part of the tools we use every day, I believe it has the capacity to bridge gaps in the mental health space. With a foundation in behavioral science and a growing practice in UX/UI, I bring an interdisciplinary lens-one that’s focused on building systems that are both intuitive and emotionally thoughtful.
Designing a streamlined, empathetic tool for behavioral technicians, parents, and children
As a former Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT), I experienced firsthand the daily challenges of supporting neurodivergent children in high-pressure environments, often with outdated, unintuitive tools. This inspired me to design a digital platform that makes therapy workflows simpler, more human, and more accessible.
Built with empathy and real-world experience, my goal with this prototype is to focus on three key users: RBTs who need quick, efficient data logging; parents who want to stay engaged but feel overwhelmed by jargon; and BCBAs who need organized reports to guide treatment. I applied UX principles to create a platform that bridges communication gaps, empowers caregivers, and ensures that therapy extends beyond the clinic and into daily life.
This project marks the beginning of my journey into UX/UI and showcases my drive to create tech that supports mental health—not just functionally, but emotionally.
