Hi, I'm Samantha!

I’m a San Francisco native with a background in Psychology and Sociology from UC Irvine—now channeling that behavioral insight into the world of UX/UI and product design. My passion lies at the intersection of design, mental health, and emerging tech, particularly AI and Human-Computer Interaction.

From Psychology to Technology: My Journey

My Story

When I began my collegiate journey, I endeavored to alleviate the mental health struggles of the individual due to my second-hand experience with friends and family who exhibited alarming depressive symptoms and suicidal tendencies. Dedicated to supporting those navigating similar challenges and deciphering the complexities of mental disorders, I studied Psychology and Sociology at the University of California, Irvine, as well as Anthropology and Liberal Arts with an emphasis on Social and Behavioral Science at the City College of San Francisco.

My current interests sit at the intersection of human-computer interaction, ethical design, and emerging AI technologies. I’m drawn to applying user-centered design to improve the mental health landscape—by increasing access to care, reducing stigma, and creating experiences that support emotional well-being in meaningful ways.
As AI becomes a bigger part of the tools we use every day, I believe it has the capacity to bridge gaps in the mental health space. With a foundation in behavioral science and a growing practice in UX/UI, I bring an interdisciplinary lens-one that’s focused on building systems that are both intuitive and emotionally thoughtful.

UX/UI Project: Behavior Support Platform for RBTs

Designing a streamlined, empathetic tool for behavioral technicians, parents, and children

As a former Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT), I experienced firsthand the daily challenges of supporting neurodivergent children in high-pressure environments, often with outdated, unintuitive tools. This inspired me to design a digital platform that makes therapy workflows simpler, more human, and more accessible.

Built with empathy and real-world experience, my goal with this prototype is to focus on three key users: RBTs who need quick, efficient data logging; parents who want to stay engaged but feel overwhelmed by jargon; and BCBAs who need organized reports to guide treatment. I applied UX principles to create a platform that bridges communication gaps, empowers caregivers, and ensures that therapy extends beyond the clinic and into daily life.

This project marks the beginning of my journey into UX/UI and showcases my drive to create tech that supports mental health—not just functionally, but emotionally.

From sketchbooks to screens, art has always been my way of making sense of the world. I started with traditional mediums—paint, pencil, and anything I could get on my hands—and eventually found myself treating everything as a canvas: my notes, my shoes, my hawaii garden and even my interfaces. Now, through UX/UI, I channel that same creative energy into crafting thoughtful, intuitive designs that speak to people on a human level. Whether it’s a moodboard or a wireframe, I believe design is just another way of telling a story—and I love making it beautiful, personal, and impactful.
